Old Business

A general discussion of both of the new repeater sites was talked about. The Cingular site for the cross band repeater and the WGFA site for the 444.625. Benny is to see Joe at Cingular and Sam to contact Howard for WGFA.

New Business

Mike KC9HHT put on a great demo of ham radio for the student of the science club and their parents. Tim brought in some books that the students could check out and return at a later date. Two boys that seemed interested in ham radio did check out some intro level books.

Our project turned out to be a mini-field effort. Antennas were constructed and placed on the roof of the school. Power supplys and radios were hauled in and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Steve dismissed us around 9:00pm.

My fellow Americans

Please don’t forget the club meeting this Wed May 3, 2006 at 7:00pm with supper at 6:00pm for those that would like to eat together.

Sorry about the late min of the last meeting

Tim has a new weather forcasting machine–The Davis Pro Vantage 2. Sounds like Jerry has 100 or countries on 6 meters.

I have added 3 more UHF repeaters to my collection. Cingular has sent contracts to me to sign–however now they have to be in the

name of the Red Cross. Volunteers can’t sign so I am trying to get Joan from the Red Cross to sign.

3 out of 4 repeaters seem to be working well–two meter repeater can be heard in Covington Indiana. Steve’s 440 repeater is working great.

Listen for it on 444.825 tone 103.5 The Watseka 444.625 has a very short range. GMRS repeater is working well.

Justin and I tried to determine on two different days which antenna at WGFA is which but my handheld analyzer would only read 94.1.

We need to get a heavy duty analyzer on that project.

73 and hope to see YOU at our meeting this May
