Watseka.

Old Business
Report of Minutes of Last Meeting were read and approved.
Report of Financial Condition of Club was read and approved.

The report on the new antenna site for the 440 machine is looking very good
we should hear from Cingular in the very near future. Benny has worked very
hard on this project. Sam has officially donated the Kenwood 850 repeater
and duplexer to the radio club. Benny and Jerry are going to Schaumburg to
get some coax and connectors. We will need to get letters from the Red
Cross and radio club telling of our intentions. I think I will try to get a
letter from the Iroquois ESDA chief (Carl G).

Benny is still working on the emcomm trailer. I think that Jerry will help
also.

Jerry, Carl, Steve did very well in the RTTY contest a couple of weekends
ago. Jerry brought in logs and talked about the fun and hard work of a 2
day contest. They might be number 1 in their class in the US and maybe 4th
in the world!! We are very lucky to have a world class contest station only
7 miles from this meeting spot.

Troy was the guest of Mike to give and get info on the project to work with
the Glenn Raymond Science Club. We plan to have an all day project on
science, radio, antennas, weather, Skywarn and a mini field day on March 28,
2006. Justin is working on the NWS guys to come down and have tornado info
and Skywarn. Mike is trying to get a special call sign for the week. Troy
is going to have students design a special QSL card or certificate.
Mike is the chairman for the radio club. Sam, Benny, Tim and others are
planning to help out. This is going to be a lot of work but all members
seem to be excited about this project. We will need radios, power supplies,
antennas—HF, UHF, VHF supports.

Carl has agreed to be head VE for our group as soon as the rest of get to be
Ves.

Amateur Radio and Iroquois ESDA

October 16, 05 by Iroquois County Amateur Radio Club

Dear Sam:

The Iroquois County Amateur Radio Club (ICARC) and its entire membership is a proven asset for the Iroquois County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA). The club’s involvement has fast become a vital part of emergency communication for ESDA. I certainly hope we can continue and expand on ICARC’s involvement in assisting with emergency communication.

The past summer’s threatening and sometimes violent weather demanded public awareness and your membership was always willing to provide communication help and weather-spotting detail. The club’s professional approach to emergency response is very much appreciated. I look forward to including ICARC in the county’s Emergency Operations Plan.

Please extend my thanks to your membership. The winter season will, no doubt, offer more emergency situations. Your input is always welcome and appreciated.

Sincerely,

Carl Gerdovich
ESDA Coordinator
